Daylife Select Release Notes

Daylife Select 2.0.5 introduces new topic page template management functionality that allows clients to edit subsets of topic pages or individual topic pages instead of making universal, site-wide edits to all topic pages sharing the same default template.

This means clients can now create and manage separate topic page templates for greater publishing flexibility. Also in this release, we are extending the Daylife.com Beta Topic Page that we released in Daylife Select v. 2.0.3  and rolling out new beta topic leaf pages for Topic Articles, Topic Photos, and Topic Quotes.

New Features

• Topic Page Template Management. Clients can now create new topic page templates to edit subsets of topics or individual topics separately from the rest of their topics pages. By default, Daylife Select Topic Pages use a shared site-wide template, so edits to one topic page affect them all. But with topic page template management, you can also create separate, shared templates for groups of topics or standalone templates for individual topics. You can change the template settings for any topic page(s) at any time.

  The template management feature enables you to, say, give your NBA Basketball topic pages a distinct look-and-feel and module configuration while giving your Politics topic pages an altogether different presentation. Or, customize just a handful of topic pages – or even a single topic page – while your other topic pages continue to use the default template.   Change the template setting for any topic from the default site-wide shared template to other shared or standalone topic templates. Add topics to a shared template by browsing topic categories or searching for individual topics.

• Beta Topic Leaf Pages Extending on our Daylife.com Beta Topic Page, we have added leaf pages for Topic Articles, Topic Photos, and Topic Quotes. These pages allow you to filter coverage on a particular topic by content type and sort this data by date. To check out the new leaf pages, navigate to any topic page on Daylife.com, and click the preview link in the frame on the bottom of the page. Here’s an example of the beta topic page for Barack Obama.  Once you’re on a beta topic page, click the ‘View all’ links the Related Articles, Related Photos, and Related Quotes, to view the beta leaf pages. Each page paginates in chronological order, and you can also sort by date by browsing the timeline module on these pages.

Resolved Issues

• Added Share/Email to Daylife.com Photo Grid Page and to Custom Page Default Template.
• Resolved a defect with SmartContext Topic Link overlays. They now honor source filters.
