Daylife Select Release Notes

Daylife Select 2.0.4 introduces new features that provide clients with additional help and feedback resources. We have also released a new ‘Share this Page’ module that drives qualified traffic via popular social media services such as Twitter, Facebook, and Yahoo Buzz. Last but not least, we are beta-releasing a new feature that enables specific modules to display content and advertising that is contextually related to Daylife Select pages.

New Features

  • Inline Help. We have added contextual, inline links throughout the Daylife Select Wizard to provide clients with task-based support and information. Now you can access contextually relevant help documentation throughout the Wizard without disrupting your editing process.

    Simply click the icon from anywhere inside the Wizard, and the corresponding help documentation will appear, on-demand in a modal box. You can also get inline descriptions of Daylife Select modules simply by rolling over the module links inside the ‘Edit Page’ and ‘Add Modules’ palettes. For additional help documentation, simply click the ‘Help’ tab in the upper-right corner of the Wizard, or on the Daylife Corp.

  • Feedback, Powered by Get Satisfaction We have received lots of feedback since we launched Daylife Select last fall. They go into an email inbox, we read them, and we try to respond to as many as possible. While nothing beats direct communication with clients, we are also keen on providing a public forum for managing your suggestions, complaints, and compliments.

    That’s why we’re excited to add the Get Satisfaction feedback widget to the Daylife Select Wizard (all feedback will be managed on the Daylife Select Product Page on Get Satisfaction). Just click the “Feedback” link in the upper-right corner of the Wizard, next to “Help.” If you have any feedback on our Daylife Select showcase site, Daylife.com, we’ve added the Get Satisfaction widget there as well (all feedback will be managed on the Daylife.com Product Page on Get Satisfaction). There is also an index page for all of Daylife’s products on Get Satisfaction.

  • Share this Page Most Daylife.com content modules now include a ‘Display Share Links’ customization option that adds ‘Share’ and ‘Email’ links to the corresponding module. This module is available for the Topic River of News module, Photo Detail module, Story Lead Article module, Quote detail module, Coverage Timeline module, and the Topic Connections page. There is also a ‘Share this Page’ module that can be independently added to any page. Users can email or share any Daylife Select page. The following social media services are currently supported: Facebook, Delicious, Yahoo Buzz, Mixx, Digg, Twitter, MySpace, StumbleUpon, Reddit, and Newsvine.

  • Contextual-Awareness for Remote HTML, Advertising, and Custom modules We are releasing in beta new functionality that lets several modules receive the context of the page to display dynamic, page-specific content. The Remote HTML module, Ad module, and Custom module now have the ability to take specific page context, such as topic name or search query. This allows clients to target contextually relevant content and advertising to specific Daylife Select pages.

Resolved Issues
  • Resolved several issues with SmartContext Widgets, which released in v. 2.0.3
  • Resolved a defect with Topic Page Designs.
  • Resolved a CSS issue that occasionally caused Wizard CSS to conflict with site CSS.
  • Fixed a defect with the Page Selector in the ‘Edit Page’ tab of the Wizard.
