Page & Module Editing

Editing pages & modules

Your Select site has thousands of pages, each based on one of a few templates (e.g., topic page, photo page).

These templates are composed of customizable modules (such as the related articles module) that dynamically generate content related to the page & template on which they live.

For example. a "related photos" module on a topic page template will show photos related to Barack Obama when a visitor goes to yoursite.daylife.com/topic/Barack_Obama.

You can edit every page template on your site: add, remove, and re-arrange modules; change the preferences (e.g., number of results, image size, source filtering) for each module on a template; you can even group modules into "custom regions" for reuse on multiple templates.

To edit a page template:

Editing a page
  1. Go to a page you want to customize, open the wizard, and click Edit Page tab. The lower part of the palette shows all of the modules in the "content region" of the page.
  2. Once there, you have these options:

    • Re-arrange modules by dragging and dropping.
    • Click on the trash can icon next to a module name to remove it from the page template.
    • Click “Edit" or the name of the module to open the module preferences editor.
    • To add modules to a region, click “Add Modules"; a list of available modules will appear. You can add any module from that list by clicking the “Add Module" link next to its name, or dragging and dropping it into place among the other modules.

Note: You’ll see your changes in the page as you make them, but they won't appear on your live site until you click "Publish Live". Changes you make to a module's preferences will be reflected in the page too, after you click "update" at the bottom of the form.
