Custom Domain
Customizing your domain name
This features lets your apply your own domain to your Select site. The default domain you see above can be changed to any domain you own whenever you like. Here are the steps:
- Create a Cname DNS entry to point to "domain.daylife.com". (If you don’t already own a domain name, check out the “Related Information” links below for help acquiring one.)
- Once the DNS entry has propagated (which could take up to 3 days, but typically is only a few minutes for a new domain) you can update to that domain in the wizard by going to Basics > Use a custom domain. Enter it and click “Update” then “Done”.
Once you switch to your new domain, the change is immediate and your users will then be visiting [yourdomain.com] instead of [example.daylife.com].
Access to that old domain will be cut off, so be sure to update any hyperlinks that use it.
Note: If you see an error (e.g., "The domain "example.com" is not correctly configured to point to Daylife."), and you have correctly created the Cname, it may not have yet propagated to Daylife's servers and won't be usable yet. Remember that the domain migration can take up to 3 days.
